Bonjour!!

It has been three glorious days since we arrived here in France for the Open de St Omer, held at the St Omer Golf Club (below) not far from Paris. We were warned of the notorious European weather but so far its been sunshine with the temperature between 15 - 23 degress. Perfect!
 
Since arriving on Monday morning in style onboard the Airbus A380, we have been busy getting ready for the tournament. It is my first one in France since I was a 17-year-old junior. I'm traveling with Unho Park and it's his first visit to france. You can imagine that we are really excited to be here this week playing in this wonderful event.
 
The course here in St Omer is certainly not easy with a huge elevation changes and undulating greens. And the wind can be brutal at times. But after two practice rounds, we are fairly confident that we are ready to challenge the golf course.
 
We played the pro-am today and although it took five hours to complete the round, we had numerous breaks at the refreshment tents which served wine, caviar and this really wonderful intestine sausage. Yummy! I think that's why the round took so long with so many pros and amateurs stopping for the food and drinks!
 
Dinners the last couple of nights were another story with Unho feasting on Escargots and steak (of course this was after I lost a dinner bet during the practice round so he didn't hold back on ordering the expensive stuff!) while I was wolfing down foie gras (right) and wonderful seafood. We also have been indulging in so many different cheeses -- Camembert, Gouda, Chevre and a few others that I have not even heard of. With all the cheese and bread we've been having, hopefully we can get through this week without putting on too much weight!!
 
Anyway, we both have a 2.30pm tee time on Thursday which means we can have a nice relaxed morning to get ready for our round. It is forecasted to be windy the next couple of days so we have to be prepared for a lot of low punch shots. Looking forward to four solid rounds of golf!
