Englishman Luke Donald has always been knocking on the door of greatness, but in May 29 2011, he beat Lee Westwood in a playoff at the BMW PGA Championship and became the world number one  – an accolade he truly deserves. His other big win came at the Accenture Match Play Championship in Feb 2011, where he defeated Martin Kaymer in the finals. Coincidentally, Westwood and Kaymer were the world’s best golfers at certain times in their career. As they say, to be the best, you have to beat the best.  If he goes on and win a couple of majors, Luke Donald will certainly solidify his number one spot and rank up there among the greats.
