Karrie Webb wins the HSBC Women's Champions 2011, held at Singapore's Tanah Merah Country Club. She finished one stroke ahead of her nearest competitor, Chie Arimura.
Webb started her final round on a sour note, as she scored a bogey at the first hole. However, a string of 4 birdies from the 11th to 14th gave her a confidence-boosting two-stroke lead. Even though she dropped a shot at the 15th, Webb kept her cool and held off her challengers to emerge champion.
Her win in Singapore is her 37th on the LPGA Tour.
"It's definitely been a great week for me. The job I did mentally is probably the best job I've done for a long time," says the champion. "I feel great to be sitting here (at the winner's press conference) and I'm very glad that I holed out that one shot to win."
