Bintan Island is often regarded as an entertainment and leisure sanctuary for travellers globally. Apart from golf, there are world class accommodations with a plethora of activities you can indulge in such as bowling and pool. With this in mind, Ria Bintan brought together a one-of-a-kind event where participants get to win prizes as they strike pins, sink the 9-ball and golf throughout the weekend.

A total of 128 sporting individuals took part in the Revo Coke Cola Golf Carnival held on March 27 and 28. The weekend started with a practice round at Ria Bintan Golf Club, followed by dinner and the indoor games at the new Nirwana Resort Centre. The competition was intense, particularly at the 9-ball pool tournament where participants had to play through multiple knockout stages to reach the finals. At the end of the evening, winners walked away with Revo Golf apparel vouchers, bottles of Chivas Regal whisky and free rounds at Ria Bintan.

The golf tournament teed off on Sunday morning at the famed Ocean course. Mr Andrew Moffat hit a superb net score of 70 with a system-36 handicap of eight to emerge champion. He was just ahead of Mr Sirait, who also scored 70 nett but had a handicap of 18. Ms. Agustina scored 84 to win the ladies’ title. Jeffrey Low, General Manager at Ria Bintan, gave away the prizes. The local live band provided light entertainment throughout the entire prize presentation luncheon.

“With the support of our title sponsors Revo and Coke Cola, we managed to organise an event of this scale,” said Elvin Chua, Marketing Manager at Ria Bintan, who was the event’s host. “The feedback was very positive and that will spur us on to organise bigger and better tournaments.”
