Thanksgiving is arguably one of the most significant holidays on the American calendar, and what better way to celebrate it than with golf. The American Chamber of Commerce here in Singapore has customarily done just that, and this year, held its 11th tournament on the eve of Thanksgiving Day at Orchid Country Club. Breakfast from Outback Steakhouse started the morning, and golf was played on the Vanda and Aranda Courses with Am- Cham staff coming around with beer, as well as refreshments sponsored by Kraft.

There was a charity element to the event, which saw 30 per cent of the proceeds going to Very Special Arts, a charity that provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to access the arts for the purpose of rehabilitation and social integration. At the lucky draw session, Mal Crispe took the most coveted prize of a pair of tickets to the U.S. sponsored by American Airlines. The team comprising Matthew Hollis, Victor Maningo, Andrew Carmichael and Joo Hock Lim were eventual winners of the tournament.
