Marina Bay Golf Course 5th Anniversary Golf Challenge
HALF A DECADE OF PUBLIC SERVICE

Marina Bay Golf Course celebrated its fifth anniversary in style. One hundred and twentyfour golfers took part in the celebratory tournament held in December 2011 that also incorporated a charity element. As part of NCI Golf Pte Ltd, Marina Bay Golf Course raised S$100,000 from the event, which went to NTUC Eldercare, a non-profit organisation that provides quality, affordable and value-added care for the elderly.

Mr Ng Ser Miang, chairman of NCI Golf, was on hand to present a “cheque” to Mr Lim Boon Heng and Ms Lim Sia Hoe, Chairman and General Manager respectively of NTUC Eldercare.

Interestingly, he idea to develop a public golf course on reclaimed land was first mooted by Mr Lim. Half a decade down the road, after Marina Bay was built, Singapore’s only 18-hole golf course has hosted more than 300,000 golfers. NCI Golf recently won a bid to manage the nine-hole Tanglin Public Golf Course and Tennis Courts. NCI Golf plans to develop it into Singapore’s first Junior Golf Hub, to be managed by mygolfkaki Academy, a unit of NCI Golf.

Goh Chok Sin was one golfer who glad he participated. His hole-in-one won him S$5,000 of Marina Bay Golf Course vouchers, and an additional S$20,000 for NTUC Eldercare pledge by NCI Golf. As part of the fifth anniversary, Marina Bay Golf Course has made its online booking service available to the public.
