The absolute sum raised by any charity event is always placed in perspective, given the good intentions behind it. Despite the current economic climate, the ST Kinetics President’s Charity Golf tournament went ahead as planned at Sembawang Country Club. Invited guests and supporters from the automotive industry played a full round of golf under perfect weather conditions at the club’s famed Commando Course.

The highlight of the dinner and prize presentation, held at the club’s banquet hall, was definitely the auction. Industry counterparts spilt their friendly rivalry onto the auction floor as they tried to outdo each other with fierce bids. That simply translated into more money and much needed help for the beneficiaries. Even the lucky draw prizes were “donated” for auction by the lucky winners.

“This year, we managed to raise S$13,000. It exceeded our target of S$10,000, which was raised last year,” said Terrence Wong, chairman of the organising committee.

“We spent nearly a month putting everything together. Although it was plenty of hard work, it was worth it since it is for charity.”
