Rasa Sentosa Resort’s annual charity golf event is four years old and going strong. In November, the Rasa Sentosa Resort Charity Golf Cup attracted 124 players and raised S$60,000.00 for Care for Children and World Vision’s One Life Fund.

Care for Children is the adopted charity of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and a non‑government organisation
based in China. Its mission is to relieve hardship, distress and sickness in abandoned and orphaned children.

World Vision’s One Life Fund is an educational bursary scheme launched by World Vision Singapore on World AIDS Day in 2008. The One Life Fund supports children in Singapore who are living with AIDS or whose parents are afflicted with the disease. It will help pay for the children’s school fees, books, uniforms and even pocket money.

Besides playing a round of golf for the cause, participants of the Rasa Sentosa Resort Charity Golf Cup gave their support through the purchase of lucky draw tickets. The bulk of the proceeds was raised through an auction that took place during the gala dinner after the golf session. Auction items include a Piaget
diamond necklace and holiday packages.
