OCBC Titanium and Platinum MasterCard members can look forward to yet another year of golf at premium courses in Singapore, with the continuation of the popular OCBC Golf Series. This year’s series kicked off on March 26, 2010 at Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong course.

The event teed off under pristine weather and course conditions. Rain - an inevitable element in golf here at the tropics came and delayed proceedings for a while. However, that did not stop Lee Poh Ho’s momentum, who scored 39 Stableford points to win this inaugural leg.

“I thought that I’d be in the top five, but I never expected to win,” explains Lee, who won a S$5,000 travel voucher from CTC Holidays Private Collections as well as a New Moon Essence of Chicken hamper from Goh Joo Hin and Davidoff Silver Shadow hamper. “I went for lessons quite recently and adjusted my swing. Thankfully it worked for me.”

A New Moon Essence of Chicken hamper was also given away for the Nearest-to-Line winner. Mizuno JPX E500 Ti Irons were sponsored by Golf House for the Longest Drive competition.

“I guess playing a lot of other sports helped,” says Ng Hock Seng Ng, who hit it furthest at 260 metres off the tee. “I simply teed it up higher and hit it with all my might!”

The dinner and prize presentation ceremony was held at Sentosa Golf Club’s banquet hall, with wine served courtesy of Profiters International. Some lucky golfers went home with Davidoff perfumes, provided by Luxasia. Sadly, nobody managed to score an ace to win the Chevrolet Captiva 2.4L. All prizes were given away by Simon Chiu, Vice President, OCBC Bank.
