Golf Digest Singapore Parent-Child Tournament 2009
Rules and Regulations
- Competition
The tournament shall consist of one 18-hole round at Sentosa Golf Club, Tanjong Course, to be played on 26 November 2009 in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A and USGA and the local rules of the Sentosa Golf Club.
- Eligibility
The tournament is open to all male, female and junior golfers.
The Committee reserves the right to reject any entry without giving any reason whatsoever. The field will be limited to 120 players or 60 pairs for the Afternoon Session. Entries will be accepted from the first 60 pairs of eligible applicants received.
- Entries
- The participation fee is SGD450.00 per pair for this tournament. No refunds for withdrawal from the tournament are allowed, or in the event that the tournament is cancelled or rained-out.
- Each flight, consisting of four (4) players, will be allocated two (2) buggies. One (1) buggy per pair. No personal caddies are allowed on the course.
- Entry forms without payment will not be accepted.
- The organizer will decide on the pairing of each flight, at the organizer’s discretion. No disputes will be entertained.
- Format of Play
Greensome / Modified Alternate Shot
Both players in a team tee off, the best of the two tee balls is selected and that ball is then played alternate-shot until holed.
Note: There must be a minimum of 6 drives from the adult and minimum of 6 drives from the child throughout the game.
- Scoring
Stableford
A game format in which golfers are awarded points based on their scores in relation to a fixed score at each hole: 1 point for the bogey, two for the par, three for the birdie, four for the eagle. When the game cannot be finished in the number of strokes necessary for the scoring, the ball is picked up. This is the only format in which the winner is the player who gets the higher score.
- Handicaps
Individual handicap: Maximum handicap index allowed is 24 for men and 36 for woman.
Team handicap: Average of the sum of both handicaps, Maximum team handicap of 36
Junior golfers who are PC holders can enter this tournament. Please enter the maximum handicap index according to the gender as stated above and select PC holder in the Home Club drop down list.
- Tournament Divisions
There will be 2 divisions, based on team handicap.
Division A: 0 - 23
Division B: 24 - 36
- Playing Tees
All men and boys must tee off from the WHITE tee box.
All women and girls must tee off from the RED tee box.
- Distance Measurement
All distance shall be measured in metres to the centre of the green, except for longest drive measurements.
- Shotgun Starting Times
All participants shall commence play 1.30pm (Afternoon Session). Please be seated at your assigned buggy by 1.15pm.
- Scorecards
Please submit your scorecards with gross score per hole duly signed immediately upon completion of your round to the Sentosa Golf Club officials / Golf Digest Singapore organising committee stationed at the Golfer's Terrace. Scorecards must be exchanged (player and marker) before commencement of the tournament. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
- Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather, whereby 50% of the participants are unable to complete their round, the competition shall be cancelled. The prizes shall be given away by means of lucky draw during the Prize Presentation Dinner.
- Etiquette
Serious Breach of Etiquette
The following may be considered "serious breaches of etiquette" for this competition:-
- Inconsiderate use of handphone during play
- Verbal abuse of fellow competitor / official / staff
- Intentionally distracting or offending fellow competitor
Note: Any other "breaches of etiquette" not listed above will be dealt with by the committee on a case-to-case basis. Penalty: Disqualification
- Ties
In the event of a tie for any place, the result will be determined under the Sentosa Golf Club count-back system.
- Dress Code
Golf Course: Golf shoes, tailored trousers / shorts / skirts and collared t-shirt.
Dinner: Smart Casual
- Prize Presentation / Dinner
All participants are invited for the dinner and prize presentation ceremony at the Grand Saloon after the Afternoon Session. Prizes shall be awarded to the top players of each division. There will also be a lucky draw segment.
- Tournament Director
All complaints, protests and disputes shall be referred to the Tournament Committee, chaired by the Tournament Director. The decision of the Tournament Committee is final.
- Exclusion of Liability
The Organiser will bear no responsibility or be held liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered by the participants during the competition or at the venue of the competition.
Clubhouse Attire
Proper attire must be worn in the Clubhouse. The following attire are not allowed:
- Singlets
- Collarless T-shirts (for men)
- Tank-tops
- Jogging Shorts
- Slippers
The Club reserves the right to turn down anyone who is not properly dressed according to its requirements.
