Siva, the reigning ADT Order of Merit champion, traded three birdies against two bogeys for a winning total of eight-under-par 280 at the Ayer Keroh Country Club.
Artemio Murakami (73) of the Philippines and Malaysians Haziq Hamizan (70) and M. Sasidaran (71) finished two strokes back on a 282 total in the RM180,000 (approximately US$60,000) event, which is the fifth leg of this season’s ADT.
“This is a good achievement and I hope to inspire more Malaysian golfers to take the ADT route to success,” said Siva who won RM31,500.
Siva hopes to build on his victory as he aims to carry his confidence on the established Asian Tour. He was afforded with playing rights on the region’s elite Tour after winning the ADT Order of Merit last year
“The ADT is a good training for me and the younger golfers. There are many talented players playing on the ADT and a win here gives you more confidence because it is a very challenging event,” said the 32-year-old.
Overnight joint leader Hsu Chia-jen of Chinese Taipei posted a 74 to end his campaign in fifth place with Japanese Takafumi Kawane and Malaysians Airil Rizman and Nicholas Fung on a 283 total, three strokes from the champion.
The top three players on the ADT Order of Merit at the end of the season will earn their Asian Tour cards for 2012.
